Creativity is flowing

My little one has the flu at the moment which means we are housebound until she picks up. Thought it would  be the perfect time for a bit of creativity! We decided to make these cute recycled paper beads and turn them into  a bracelet. It’s a great way to use up some of your recyclables. They make a great gift to grandmothers too! See here for instructions.

Before you recycle anything you should have a look at Disneys website which give instruction on how to create a wallet out of a milk carton. Might try this next week!

It is a great site that includes some fantastic projects that kids will love. Some of the best include the Cereal Tote Bag, Simple Shakers for very little ones and Portable golf course made out of recycled plastic bottles will entertain Dad too.

Etsy finds

For all those who have never heard of Etsy, it is a unique shopping experience online. Not unlike eBay but people sell their own handmade items. Here I am including a few cute finds:

Adorable hot tea cozy from user Knitstorm made from forest yarn with attached felt tea bag that reads “green tea” or “hot tea”. Also good to know that all items in her shop are handmade in a smoke-free home.

Be eco-friendly while carrying your cash in a one of a kind wallet created with a recycled billboard banner. It comprises of  1 compartment for your notes, 4 compartments for standard-sized cards holding at least 2 cards in each, and 2 compartments on each side for other items (eg: receipts, notes, etc,). All billboard banners are brushed, washed, cleaned by hand, and carefully selected, measured, and cut into eye catchy pieces before being sewn into this bifold wallet. Created by Notty Pooch who have a whole shop of similar items. Well worth a look!

One for the kids. This “Snails and Turtles Coloring Bag” is recycled from old jeans and holds 15 colouring pencils on the outside and colouring books inside. This bag is perfect for keeping a child entertained on the go and is available from La Chiffonniere.
