Trying a hand at sewing

 Moda Bake Shop

Must be something in the air this weekend as I was also inspired by the Moda Bake Shop and its website is so cute. They have an extensive amount of projects and my wish list is growing by the day with their DIY sewing projects.  In an impulse buy yesterday I ordered a Singer sewing machine from the UK and can’t wait for it to arrive. Bit surprised by how much they cost though could not find a second that suited me but you there are quite a few popping up on so keep an eye open if your interested.

Just hope I’ll be able to find the time to make everything I want! I am a sewing newbie so I’ll let you know how I get on. My first challenge is this cute warm blanket for my daughter. Everything I ordered off Fat Quarter Shop in the US so hopefully wont take that long to get the fabric. Feel free to share your own little projects too 🙂

Creativity is flowing

My little one has the flu at the moment which means we are housebound until she picks up. Thought it would  be the perfect time for a bit of creativity! We decided to make these cute recycled paper beads and turn them into  a bracelet. It’s a great way to use up some of your recyclables. They make a great gift to grandmothers too! See here for instructions.

Before you recycle anything you should have a look at Disneys website which give instruction on how to create a wallet out of a milk carton. Might try this next week!

It is a great site that includes some fantastic projects that kids will love. Some of the best include the Cereal Tote Bag, Simple Shakers for very little ones and Portable golf course made out of recycled plastic bottles will entertain Dad too.
